Gruene Tini’s


You cannot miss Gruene when visiting New Braunfels, Texas. It is a gem hidden in the woods. It has everything; there is Gruene Historic District which is nestled and next to the river full of historic buildings and a shopper’s paradise. Beautiful trees, flowers and landscapes are great backgrounds for those photo memorabilia. You can’t beat the restaurants and the fun stores that sell:  only original t-shirts, candy, nut, antique, wine, wood furniture and more.

A trip to this area will not be complete without a visit to Gruene Hall, enjoy a cold beer in a historic and fun atmosphere. This is a home to legends of country music icons like: John Prine, Willie Nelson, George Strait, Emmy Lou Harris and even Chubby Checker. On any afternoon or night of the week you are likely to stumble on Blues, Cajun, American Country or Pop music performed by up and coming artists.

For a nice end to a long day check out the Vineyard at Gruene, the tasting room is huge and open. It has an awesome setting and live music be sure to get there early to avoid the madness. If you are into wine there is a bar that serves beer and mixed drinks.

If you’re the thrill seeker type try the Comal tubes River Rides. Most people are looking for the adventure of the rapids, others want a calmer ride. Bring some cold drinks and enjoy an afternoon on the water and have a great time!

Each third Thursday, Winery on the Gruene hosts a wine tasting and music event. If you’re looking for an enjoyable wine tasting at cheap price this is the place to go. The price for 4 wine tasting is $2 with each additional tasting at $1.

Landa Station Bar & Grill


Famous for being the Seat of Comal County and a principal city of the San Antonio-New Braunfels Metropolitan area, I welcome you to New Braunfels, Texas. If this is your first visit to New Braunfels, I can guarantee you a swell time especially if you are the fun loving kind of person like I am. From having fun floating a river to playing or seeing the numerous attraction sites and relaxing to make memories with camera shots, you should have a quite memorable stay there.

But, your fun in New Braunfels is not complete if you do not visit Landa Station Bar and Grill. This would be tantamount to visiting Paris and not going to see the sights of the Eiffel Tower. It started as a bar in 2005 and has turned into your best choice location for good burger and sweet tea. They have a great outdoor patio affording you the combined pleasure of a very lovely scenery and great food. There is a drive through making it really easy for you to pick up your order. The menu contains amongst other things, Chopped pork, Chicken and different burger combinations all at pocket friendly prices. It used to be a bar, so you can still get all your favorite booze. You would totally love their warm but efficient service, their karaoke which comes up every other Friday and Saturday. I bet it with you, this place is bound to change your opinion about how good hand-formed, griddled hamburgers should taste.

Wait a minute; I should probably mention how much fun the karaoke is considering how well patronized the place is. So, should you love to want to visit the best food location in town, the best karaoke point alongside wonderful scenery, that secret location is Landa Station Bar and Grill.

Don’t miss happy hour from 4-7 pm Monday through Friday, when everything in the Pub is $0.50 to $1.00 off!

New Braunfels Conservation Society


History looks back in New Braunfels, Texas and the visitors come to this great place to pay heed to those who discovered this wonderful land 60 years ago. Thanks to the Prince Carl of Solms-Braunfels who founded it and first 436 people resided here to leave their footprints for the coming generations. Comal Springs became the reason of his selection of this beautiful place. The number of 436 people paved the way to a mass migration of 30,000 Germans and a belt of 100 miles east and west came was formed up into the Hill Country.

Glimpse on the life in 1800 can be seen in the Conversation Plaza. Clock of history has been stopped here and you can observe the past standing in the present tense. Two times available at one time. Past and present put together! As a restored village of Germany, it is one of the most remarkable must see places of the world which leaves the visitors stunned with the facts and fantasies together. They feel themselves into the den of bygone lanes in New Braunfels.

Kaffee Haus in a general store is another attraction for the visitors who can enjoy German lunch and breakfast which is homemade and speaks of the tastes of the past. Desserts are also available in the same great way and you will taste the real flavors of sweet mixed with the gone age recipe. The Conservation Society has done excellent job in preserving the heredity. It owns historic bed-and breakfast in a fantastic way and maintains it with the true spirit and taste. The charming small town of New Braunfels is located in the midst of the glorious landscapes of Texas, USA.  This town is brimming with legacies and traditions of the ancient world, with a touch of German aroma. Visit the historical district of Gruene. You should definitely try out the Vineyard at Gruene for some exquisite wine tasting and mouth-watering meat dishes, plus you get live music. They also host events like wedding receptions and birthday parties.

There is no shortage of crazy stuffs that you can do in New Braunfels. Water activities during the summer are adrenaline-charged. The Natural Bridge Caverns is an enchanting place for you adventurous folks out there. It’s basically supposed to be a natural attraction, but it’s also loaded with cool stuffs like caves and rock formations. If you love interactions with animals, the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch is the perfect place for you to be.

Looking for picnic facilities? Go no further than Landa Park. This park has a lot to offer- a ride on the miniature train, aquatic facilities and picnic tables are just a few of them.

Circle Arts Theatre


During 1968, the local theatre group of New Braunfels decided that it had run their course and wanted to shut down their company. But Elizabeth Elliot, the Founder and Executive Director of Circle Arts Theatre decided that New Braunfels needed a thriving arts theatre and so she founded the Circle Arts Theatre.

Located in Landa Park, New Braunfels, Texas, Circle Arts Theatre is mostly known for their 4 major productions a year. The productions mainly consist of musicals, comedies, dramas, mysteries, etc. Alongside these, the theatre tries to provide a number youth programs throughout the year.

The Circle Arts Theatre, now celebrating its 44th season, gathers the brightest stars amongst New Braunfels talent and performs great theatre productions ranging from classics like Fiddler on the Roof, to more recent comedies such as The Unnecessary Farce.

New Braunfels is mostly known for Wurstfest, which is a 10-day festival where the inhabitant of New Braunfels celebrates German food and culture with Texas flair. Generally celebrated from November 6-15, this festival, known predominately for the endless supply of sausage, brings in thousands of visitors each year. The Circle Arts Theatre produces a Special production for the Wurstfest every year. This year’s production is titled, Beauty and the Wurst.

Apart from these theatres and the festival, New Braunfels offers many interesting and exciting things to do. Landa Park, unlike any other park, is one of the best things of New Braunfels. Giant Oak trees canopy, walking and jogging trails, miniature train tracks, paddle boats for boating in the Comal River and Lake Landa. There is also a 18 hole golf course. Any golf fan will enjoy the course and 19th hole clubhouse grill. New Braunfels also offers The Farm to Market, which is the highest rated farmers’ market in the whole state of Texas!

Dry Comal Creek Vineyards


If you’re a wine lover searching for a place to get away and have some fun, look no further than Dry Comal Creek Vineyards in New Braunfels. Located in the beautiful Texas hill country right between San Antonio and Austin, Dry Comal Creek is the perfect place for a day trip to escape from the strains of city life.

Dry Comal Creek Vineyards is a unique place with a storied history, starting when the first vines were planted in 1992 as a pet project of the owners Franklin and Bonnie Houser. These first crops were completely wiped out by 2002 due to a combined effort from catastrophic flooding and Pierce’s Disease. But in the true Texan fashion, the Houser’s did not give up. They forged their own path and planted a resilient species of grape known as Black Spanish. The Dry Comal Creek Vineyard was the first vineyard in both Texas and California to cultivate the Black Spanish strain of grape, cementing their name in wine history as the pioneers of Texas Black Spanish wine.

The Houser’s have created a laid-back atmosphere at Dry Comal Creek, so don’t expect to have to taste wine with your pinky up. Tours of the Winery and visits to the Tasting Room do not require advanced reservations. Simply drop by the tasting room any day of the week between the hours of 12 and 5pm and you’ll get a taste of Texas wine country for as little as $10. For an extra $3, tours of the vineyard and winery run twice a day every Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 and 3:30pm.

If you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion, Dry Comal Creek is the perfect place to host a wedding reception, bridal shower, or rehearsal dinner. Even beyond weddings, this winery is a great place to host any kind of event where exceptional wine and amazing services are available at an affordable price.

This zoo is called animal world because it offers a number of animals, alligators, snakes, cats etc. This was started in 1967 and didn’t stop being a major attraction for all the tourists. The zoo has hundreds and hundreds of amazing species and states’ largest snake collection it is open for everyone from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm ticket ranges from $12.75 to $9.75 and children less than 3 years of age can go for free.

There are a number of reviews you can read about the zoo. There used to be a time when people were unsatisfied with the living condition of the animal and their cages used to be old from 1967’s time, concrete bases cage which was making animals unhappy. But now this has changed there are a number of new and exciting features being added to the zoo. They have hired and started a proper system which inspects the living condition and health of the animals in the farm.  Recently the zoo has added 2 new lions Ngala (female) and mostwari  (male) they are two unrelated white lions and are the attraction of the new show the “Ghosts of the jungle”
