You cannot miss Gruene when visiting New Braunfels, Texas. It is a gem hidden in the woods. This is a home to legends of country music icons like: John Prine, Willie Nelson, George Strait, Emmy Lou Harris and even Chubby Checker. On any afternoon or night of the week you are likely to stumble on Blues, Cajun, American Country or Pop music performed by up and coming artists.
For a nice end to a long day check out the Vineyard at Gruene, the tasting room is huge and open. It has an awesome setting and live music be sure to get there early to avoid the madness. If you are into wine there is a bar that serves beer and mixed drinks.
If you’re the thrill seeker type try the Comal tubes River Rides. Most people are looking for the adventure of the rapids, others want a calmer ride. Bring some cold drinks and enjoy an afternoon on the water and have a great time!
Each third Thursday, Winery on the Gruene hosts a wine tasting and music event. If you’re looking for an enjoyable wine tasting at cheap price this is the place to go. The price for 4 wine tasting is $2 with each additional tasting at $1.
